Greater Horizons Youth Center’s mission is to promote community enrichment by providing free counseling, parenting classes, educational workshops, financial literacy and after school childcare.

Join Our Digital Tutorials Team
If you are a teacher or work in a classroom environment or coach please contact us. We are working to put together FREE digital classrooms and help our kids continue to learn and complete any work being sent by teachers via email.
If you have GroupMe please send your number associated with your GroupMe so we can add you to the appropriate group. Parents please put parents in message and teachers/volunteers please do the same. We look forward to working with you all.
Giving Our Youth Easter
In lieu of the COVID 19 pandemic and social distancing our first annual Easter Egg Hunt will be an Easter Drive. We will put together Easter baskets and distribute them to families throughout our city. If you would like your child to receive an Easter basket please complete the contact form and put Easter Drive in the message field.
Also we do still have essential products available upon request. Please include Essential Package if you need these items.

Greater Horizons Youth Center 2020 Senior Adpotee
Meet Clarence Williams. He feels that he has a purpose. He intends on finding that purpose. Since a kid he’s vowed to be the change. He wants to actually make a difference in the lives around him, rather than just speak on it like many others. He is a man of his word. He has high hopes for his future. He has confidence that the hunger he has to achieve success will never die out. He is eager to achieve more than he did the day before. He truly wants to be someone that makes a positive difference on the world. He wants to be able to change the lives of the people around him for the better. Throughout all his years of high school, he has improved his GPA. He recurved prestigious academic awards this year in football season. He is an Academic All State athlete and will graduate honors this year. He wants to get his bachelors or masters in Criminal Justice. He wants to study law and become a civil rights lawyer so that he can help defend those that are frowned upon because of their skin tone. He wants to be able to represent those that can’t be.
Greater Horizons Youth Center 2020 Senior Adoptee
Meet Tatyanna Penrice!! Tatyanna is a senior at Carl Wunsche Senior High School and will be attending the University of North Texas. She will be majoring in Fashion and Design. She is a honor roll student and has served as the Fashion Club President for 3 consecutive years at her high school. Tatyanna is also the YPD President at Brown Chapel AME Church.
Jasmine Frederick Carrier Day
In honor and memory of our beloved Jasmine Frederick Carrier we will start to extend our services and resources to families in need of shelter, food pantry, clothes and transportation assistance. While these services will be available beginning mid February if we are able to assist in any means we will try to accommodate.

Jonathan’s Shoe Giveaway
On April 30, 2021 the first annual “Jonathan’s Shoe Give A Way” took place at Cypress Ridge High School in Houston, Texas. Students were provided with brand new pairs of shoes.
